Informative Text - report
Description of activity
Students write an informative text about an animal they have studied and discussed in class.
Students have explored a variety of informative texts and discussed how pictures and words create meaning. They have viewed short clips on animals in the wild and discussed information gathered from this source. Students then wrote an informative piece of writing that conveyed information about the animal.
Criteria for assessing learning
(These criteria would normally be communicated to students with the activity.)
Students will be assessed on their ability to:
- write a simple information report
- use sentences to structure ideas
- use strategies to spell familiar words
- use NSW Foundation Style handwriting or a word-processing program.
