Ancient History Life Skills Stage 6 Syllabus (2017)

The Stage 6 Ancient History Life Skills course provides opportunities for students to explore the ancient past and develop an understanding of how people, groups and events have influenced past societies and the world today. The course enables students to participate in historical investigations of ancient societies and/or personalities to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills of historical inquiry. Study of this course should contribute to students' skills in locating, selecting, organising, planning and presenting information within an historical context.

Year 12 school-based assessment in 2024

In recognition of continuing school disruption, NESA has extended the 2023 flexibility for school-based assessment rules to Year 12 students undertaking the HSC in 2024. These changes affect the published Assessment and Reporting requirements. Please ensure you follow the school-based assessment advice for the 2024 HSC.

About Life Skills

All students are entitled to participate in and progress through the curriculum. Life Skills courses provide course options for students with special education needs in Years 7–12 who cannot access the regular course outcomes, particularly students with an intellectual disability.
